This week the Official Symbol of the 2012 Paralympics was displayed. The Symbol, 3 Agitos, one red, one blue and the third green appear as three crescents. In Latin Agito means "I move", which seems highly appropriate for an Olympic event. However, I can't help but feel that the choice of images could be offensive to some who might see it as a suggestion that the participants are only partial athletes. As we all know, "The Olympic Games" use complete circles or rings as their official symbol, of which one is red, one is blue and one is green; and using crescents, or part of a circle or ring to represent the Paralympics seems potentially, questionably, offensive at best.
What do you think?
